How buying a firearm online works
Federal law requires that firearms purchased online be transferred through a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) in the buyer's state of residence. Here's what to expect:
- Place your order. Add the firearm to your cart and select an FFL dealer near you at checkout. Call the dealer first to confirm they accept transfers and their fee.
- We verify the dealer. We confirm a copy of the dealer's license is on file before your order is released.
- The distributor ships to your dealer. Most orders ship from our distributor partners within 1–3 business days, insured and with adult signature required.
- Pick up and transfer. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. You'll complete ATF Form 4473 and a NICS (or state) background check, plus any state waiting period or permit requirements.
Age requirements
- Rifles, shotguns and long-gun ammunition: 18+
- Handguns and handgun ammunition: 21+
- Some states and localities set higher limits.
Ammunition & accessories
Non-firearm items ship directly to your address. Ammunition requires an adult signature and is unavailable in some states. Magazines and certain items are restricted in some states — restrictions are shown on each product page and enforced at checkout.
